Improve Equipment Reliability | KMWIS Wireless Vibration Sensor Solves Abnormal Vibration Problems Of Water Pumps
The customer had a water pump with abnormal vibration values and needed vibration analysis. Knowing that KM had professional vibration analyzers, KM engineers brought KMWIS Wireless Vibration Sensors to the customer site for vibration analysis.
The KMWIS Wireless Vibration Sensor uses low-power Bluetooth and Wi-Fi dual-mode communication technology to ensure stable data transmission and maintain high-precision collection even in a workshop environment with strong electromagnetic interference. KMWIS is also equipped with an intelligent diagnostic algorithm that can analyze the vibration spectrum in real time and automatically identify abnormal features such as bearing wear, shaft misalignment, or gear meshing failure. Engineers can view equipment health scores and early warning suggestions through the supporting mobile APP, which greatly shortens troubleshooting time.

Engineers used the KMWIS Wireless Vibration Sensor to test the vibration values of multiple points on the water pump and found that the vibration amplitude of the No. 3 measuring point was significantly beyond the standard range. Spectral analysis showed that there was a significant 2-fold frequency component at this measuring point, accompanied by wide-band high-frequency noise. It was found that the drive-end bearing of the water pump had been running continuously for more than 18,000 hours and was close to the overhaul cycle. Combined with the vibration characteristic analysis, the KMWIS Wireless Vibration Sensor was used to determine that the motor had dynamic balance problems and the foundation was loose or insufficient in rigidity. It was recommended that customers take optimization measures such as dynamic balance correction.

This accurate diagnosis not only avoided unplanned downtime, but also verified the key value of multi-dimensional condition monitoring technology in preventive maintenance - through the linkage analysis of multiple parameters such as vibration and temperature, potential fault characteristics can be identified three weeks in advance. In the era of Industry 4.0, which is about reducing costs and increasing efficiency, the KMWIS Wireless Vibration Sensor not only improves equipment reliability, but also provides solid support for the intelligent transformation of enterprises in a data-driven way.
